Bambus is a Swedish wine and spirits company that specializes in custom mixes. In their quest to stand out, I crafted a design that exudes fun and vibrancy, setting Bambus apart from the crowd.
Central to this strategy was the introduction of a mascot that embodied the spirit of the brand. The design philosophy revolves around infusing joy and playfulness into every aspect, ensuring that Bambus becomes a delightful and engaging presence in the Swedish wine and spirits scene.

Embracing the charm of a bygone era, Bambus takes inspiration from the world of 1920s rubber hose-styled cartoons, predating the expansive influence of Disney. Our design approach for the primary logo and supplementary illustrations introduces anthropomorphized versions of iconic drinks, such as soda bottles and wine glasses.
These illustrations capture the essence of Bambus, infusing a sense of nostalgia and character into the brand. The choice of a 1920s aesthetic adds a touch of vintage allure, creating a unique visual identity that stands out in the Swedish market.
Alverata and Europa were chosen to combine a feeling of old-school and modern aesthetics. Since Bambus was located in Sweden, we also needed typefaces that work well in their language.
The original creator of Alverata, Gerard Unger, took inspiration from early 20th-century design.
I used Alverata for its bold, classy look that matches the retro feeling of Bambus on its logo and headlines.
Europa contrasts Alverata with cleaner geometric forms for a modern, clean look.
Bambus showcases its distinct identity through four primary drinks, each possessing its unique color and aesthetic. This approach, along with the mascot logo design creates a visually cohesive and easily recognizable system.
